Two Roads Two Juicy

The name for Two Roads Brewing stems from a divergence, a separation, that poet Robert Frost wrote about: the road more commonly taken from “the one less traveled by.”

Located in Stratford, Connecticut Two Roads has an impressive portfolio that consist of nearly three dozen year round, seasonal, and specialty beers. One of their recent limited releases is an unfiltered New England style Double IPA.

ABV: 8.2%

Pour: A light golden color with a haziness to it.

Head: A frothy off white head raises and slowly fades without leaving any lacing.

Nose: Lots of sharp pine at first, followed by grapefruit and a hint of wheat.

Palate: Lighter than expected. Has a nice juicy core. The hops are really smooth with a nice flavor without being sticky or overly piney. The finish is clean and refreshing.

Overall: Really interesting. I was expecting a hop bomb since it’s a double IPA but that was not the case. It was extremely smooth and super juicy with plenty of fruit notes giving it an extremely refreshing finish for a double IPA. This would pair with many foods such as Thai food, BBQ chicken or even seafood.
